Dev Test 9-10-23 Changes


Additions

  • Bhopping-esque movement tech. (Jumping again within a few frames of hitting the ground allows speed build up)
  • Working crouching. (Ctrl, C)
  • Interactions with the world. (E, Right Mouse Button, Alt, Enter)
  • Area triggers.
  • Debug menu. (F5)
  • USP model in the corner of the view model. (Currently very useless and unnecessary)
  • Radio.
  • Gravity that goes down. (This is generally considered to be more useful than gravity that goes up)
  • Camera sway and bob when moving.

Changes

  • Player body is now a child of the map allowing different spawn locations per map.
  • Crouching while in mid air limits the max speed of the player to half of the default while in mid air. This is just an idea to make in air movement control easier.
  • Engine updated from Godot 4.0-stable to Godot 4.1.2-stable.

Fixes

  • Fixed the player accelerating exponentially (by a power of about 2) when holding down adjacent movement keys.
  • Fixed the window infinitely renaming itself with ever increasing version numbers.
  • Fixed the player getting stuck in the ground or ceiling when uncrouching. (Usually)
